New Television Ads Promote Wellness
In keeping with government's commitment to promote wellness, the Honourable Ross Wiseman, Minister of Health and Community Services, today launched a series of television ads featuring local, well-known personalities to support the directions of the Provincial Wellness Plan. Snook (Pete Soucy) also attended the launch to talk about his involvement in the campaign and the importance of healthy living. "Our government is committed to promoting healthy living among all residents of our province as a way to encourage wellness and to prevent long term health issues," said Minister Wiseman. Community groups promote healthy living throughout the province
Community groups promote healthy living throughout the province Twenty-four community groups and organizations will receive a total of $695,000 to promote the benefits of healthy eating, physical activity, injury prevention and tobacco control through the new Provincial Wellness Grants Program, said Health and Community Services Minister Tom Osborne. The new program is a component of government’s new Provincial Wellness Plan launched in March. Government encourages Newfoundlanders and Labradorians to go healthy
Health and Community Services Minister John Ottenheimer today encouraged all Newfoundlanders and Labradorians to go healthy with the launch of government’s new Provincial Wellness Plan. The plan, which focuses on improving the health of the population and helping all Newfoundlanders and Labradorians achieve their optimal state of wellness, builds on the work of six regional wellness coalitions and the Provincial Wellness Advisory Committee, which is comprised of a broad range of government departments, professional associations and community groups.
